Much of the related work for existing power plants has traditionally been for capital improvements and turnarounds. Westcon’s role for new builds can range from balancing plant-related construction to undertaking the general contractor role for select projects based on the overall project size and contracting approach.

The flexibility in Westcon’s contracting approach allows for providing our construction services to a wide array of power industry leaders. These include OEM’s, technology providers, engineering, design and EPC firms, as well as owner-operators. Westcon frequently partners with a host of companies to offer sound project solutions for the challenging projects of today.

Many of Westcon’s key clients in power generation have multiple methods of power generation that range from traditional coal-fired generation to less traditional methods. Westcon envisions growing the power generation portion of the business due in part to the future U.S. market demand for new builds and retrofit projects.
