QA/QC

Westcon’s QA/QC program is an extensive compilation of the industry standards and documentation practices for construction in the heavy industrial process applications. These implementation standards are applicable to the construction of petrochemical, chemical, oil and gas, power, and related industrial process markets. Westcon’s QA/QC manual has a full spectrum of inspection requirements, documentation, and other relevant procedures for ensuring that total project quality is achieved for every project.

A key component of Westcon’s approach to ensuring that every QA/QC expectation is met for each project is the process of developing a project-specific QA/QC plan. The process of creating a project-specific QA/QC plan occurs at project commencement. The plan is developed in a collaborative process with our client, by using Westcon’s comprehensive QA/QC manual and any client-specific requirements (including all client-specific documentation preferences) and jointly selecting the applicable QA/QC standards and forms that will comprise the project-specific QA/QC plan. The important part of this process is to ensure that all QA/QC standards and documentation requirements are selected before actual construction starts, and that these are tailored to the specific needs of each client. The goal is to have a clear plan for all of the inspection and testing requirements, and to develop a comprehensive plan for all of the project-turnover documents before the construction starts.

Project-Specific QA/QC Plan

  • Collaboration of Westcon’s program and the client’s specifically requested items, tailored for each project at project commencement.
  • Comprised of Westcon’s QA/QC manual with the selection of the applicable standards for the industry and the specific project scope of work.
  • Supplemented with any client-specific standards and/or documentation requirements.
  • Documented procedure for all aspects of inspection and testing requirements.
  • Ensure that all “legacy documentation” and project-turnover requirements are fully met.
